Abstract: In 1987, Klensch was awarded by theCouncil of Fashion Designers of America for"consistently bringing international fashionto the largest audience in the history oftelevision", and for consistently "getting thestory first and getting it right." When I started atCFDA and was sent on an exploratory trip toMilan and Paris Fashion Weeks to study howthey did their shows (research for the tents),Elsa was the most generous person to meand made sure I got into shows I couldn't geta ticket for. Klensch was one of thereasons he decided to pursue fashion andbecome a fashion designer. PARIS SPECIAL EDITION OBITUARY * On "Style With Elsa Klensch", she gave weeklyreports of the global fashion industry and coveredthe runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris Elsa Klensch, who was a pioneer inbringing fashion to TV screens with hershow, "Style With Elsa Klensch", diedFriday at the age of 92 in New York City.
