Abstract: This article explores the field of geopolitics and its impact on international relations. It discusses two distinct traditions within geopolitics: a democratic tradition that aims to understand how liberal societies can thrive in a chaotic world, and an autocratic tradition that seeks to consolidate power and expand empires. The article focuses on the resurgence of geopolitical strategies in Eurasia, particularly in Russia and China. It highlights Russia's program of expansion and dominance through invasion, subordination, and political instability, while China focuses on expanding its influence through economic, technological, and military means. The article argues that the democratic world needs to revive its own geopolitical lineage to counter these challenges and maintain a liberal order. It emphasizes the importance of alliances, balancing power, and addressing the multidimensional nature of Eurasian struggles. The article concludes by suggesting that global crises can be opportunities for democratic powers to come together and create a more secure and prosperous world. [Extracted from the article]
