Abstract: "Visions of Beirut: The Urban Life of Media Infrastructure" by Hatim El-Hibri is an interdisciplinary book that explores the visual culture that has shaped the urban life of Beirut. The book examines the historical background of Lebanon and how sectarianism influences every aspect of the country. It delves into the social life of maps of Beirut, the pre and post-civil war economy, and the concept of concealment from a visual perspective. The book concludes by reflecting on the history of space in Lebanon, acknowledging the ongoing distress and hardships faced by the country.
