Abstract: | The article reports that the music book chart for the four weeks to 11th February is top heavy with the big titles of the past year. But the release of the film biopic "Walk the Line" has led to a surge in sales of titles on late singer Johnny Cash. Bloomsbury has the benefit of the authorized biography. Steve Turner's "The Man Called Cash." But both Omnibus Press, with Stephen Miller's Johnny Cash: The Life of an American Icon, and HarperCollins, with Cash's own autobiography, also find places in the top 20. Sales of those three titles in the four-week period came to more than 7,000 copies, worth in excess of £ 50,000 in revenue. |
