| Abstract: | The article focuses on some of the bestsellers in the category of history and politics. Second World War books dominate the history chart for the year, taking six of the top 10 positions, with the books "Forgotten Voices" and "Instructions for Servicemen" series being the most successful publications. Some sub-genres of history did grow year on year. Book sales swelled in Ancient History, First World War and Africa, where Martin Meredith's "The State of Africa" was the top new title. Meanwhile, sales in political science category suffered an even steeper decline, falling 28.9 per cent to £7.3 million, their lowest level in four years. |
