Abstract: The study of coevolutionary and non-linear systems has started to become popular within the social sciences and related disciplines. While the work of sociologist Pierre Bourdieu has long been influential in these fields. In this paper we will seek to demonstrate that by combining Stuart Kaufman's NK models, utilizing fitness and fitness landscapes, and Bourdieu's conception of the habitus and field, there are potentially new ways of engaging with the understanding of interactions between collective and individual consciousness, and perhaps more importantly, new ways of understanding social inclusion and integration.
