Abstract: The article reports on sales of various books in the Great Britain as of the week ending January 18, 2003. Sales of Harry Potter titles increased by 30% during the period, compared to the previous week, as fervor over the fifth book in the series, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,' by J.K. Rowling increased. Already retailers, both high street and online, are taking pre-orders for the book, which is due to be published on June 21, 2003. Author Joanne Harris occupied the highest position in both the Bookseller 40 and the mass market fiction charts with her paperback 'Coastliners.' This novel has already sold more than 77,000 units since publication in early January 2003. The overall top selling sports title of 2002 was 'Keane,' by football players Roy Keane and Eamon Dunphy, which has sold more than 214,000 units. The backlist title which recorded the highest sales was 'Touching the Void,' by Joe Simpson. First published in paperback in 1998, it sold a further 30,436 units in 2002.
