| Abstract: | The article discusses why the creation of artificially intelligent life (AI) such as robots, androids, and cyborgs is a common theme in science fiction books and motion pictures. Topics include why AI fiction is often timeless and why AI nonfiction can become outdated, the human fear of eradication by AI, and library collection development recommendations with titles such as "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov, "Alex + Ada" by Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn, and "Robot Futures" by Illah Reza Nourbakhsh. |
