Abstract: Object-Orientation is now over forty years old. In that time, Object-Oriented programming has moved from a Scandinavian cult to a world-wide standard. In this talk I΄ll revisit the essential principles – myths – of object-orientation, and discuss their role in the evolution of languages from SIMULA to Smalltalk to C+ + to Java and beyond. Only by keeping the object-oriented faith can we ensure full-spectrum object-oriented dominance for the next forty years in the project for a new object-oriented century! [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
