| Description: | L’obiettivo di questo articolo è analizzare le modalità in cui la dimensione del gioco incontra quella del sesso nelle rappresentazioni letterarie dell’erotismo in alcune opere di David Foster Wallace, Michel Houellebecq e Walter Siti. Nello specifico si sottolineerà come la rappresentazione dei giochi sessuali e, in particolare, del sesso sadomaso sia utilizzata dai tre autori per condurre un discorso parallelo sulla volontà di potenza e di possesso come risposta a una diffusa incapacità di amare dei loro personaggi. The aim of this paper is to analyze the ways in which sex and games interplay in the literary works of David Foster Wallace, Michel Houellebecq and Walter Siti. In particular I will focus on the representation of sexual games highlighting the discourse on the desire for power and control through which the characters try to cope with the loss of love and meaning in the contemporary world. |
