Abstract: Willingness to communicate (WTC) enhances proficiency for students of English as a foreign language (EFL) and has become a significant research topic. In the literature, several studies focus on the reasons that affect the WTC of EFL students. Yet, little is known about EFL students' suggestions to maintain their WTC in online English language lessons. Therefore, the present study aims to find out EFL students' suggestions to maintain their WTC in online English language lessons. It was designed as a qualitative case study. A group of 40 Turkish EFL students participated in the present study. The data were collected through an open-ended question online, and participants' responses were analyzed thematically. The participants made several suggestions related to lessons, topics, activities, teachers, classrooms, assignments, and programs. The findings were discussed, the limitations of the study were explained, and suggestions for further studies were made.
