| Abstract: | The article analyzes the 2018 film "Hereditary," a horror film and psychological family drama, starring Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne and Alex Wolff, and written and directed by Ari Aster. Aster and cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski used a clever framing device that blur the real and the imaginary from the outset. Aster's skilled interweaving of the psychological with the supernatural contributes to the film's ability to evoke fear. |
