Abstract: The Arab Spring revolution taught media scholars how the use of new technology, such as social media platforms, could provide new spaces for citizens to gather and share their opinions freely and without restrictions. The authors examined news coverage between 2010 and 2014 regarding the use of social media during protests in the Middle East. The authors touch on news coverage and digital inequalities in the Middle East, such as the case of Israel's and Palestine's news coverage in the digital age. [Extracted from the article]
