Abstract: "Stories From the NGV Collection" is an apt subtitle for an exhibition seeking to share a novel viewing, through - as claimed in publicity and wall text - a "queer lens". Keywords: Queer art and design; exhibitions EN Queer art and design exhibitions 701 708 8 08/16/22 20220701 NES 220701 The museologically ambitious I Queer: Stories From the NGV Collection i occupied the entire third floor of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) at its St Kilda Road campus; one of the two campuses of the principal art museum of the state of Victoria, Australia. In addition to the almost infinite material culture and interpretive scope of the exhibition and its effort to scoop up untold stories, the resultant "category uncertainty" about queer: what it may be; how epistemologically mobile it might be; how one might potentially read culture for its presence was the most interesting thing about the show.
