Summary:In 1955 Sylvia Plath entered Newnham College, Cambridge, England, where she met British poet Ted Hughes. They were married a year later and after a brief stint in Boston, returned to England where their two children were born. Sylvia immersed herself in looking after her children and writing. By the time the Bell Jar was published in 1963 her marriage was over and she was living in desperate circumstances in London and in February of that year she committed suicide.
