In a word, aptitude testing, like medicine and engineering, is ceasing to be a job for amateurs and is becoming the work of technically trained professionals. It has been the purpose of the author to include within a convenient space two of the essentials of the training for aptitude work: (1) an account of the fundamental principles of aptitude testing and (2) an intelligible description of the most effective and the most economical methods of constructing batteries of aptitude tests.
