Description
Summary:In the past, little attention had been given to military personnel returning from war. Only with the Iraq and Gulf Wars have we begun to understand the needs of veterans and our responsibility to provide proper treatment for those suffering from post-traumatic stress and other difficulties. Veterans are actually members of a distinct cultural group and the importance of working with them and their families is reflected in this video. Students will learn about the important topics of post-traumatic stress, specific treatment issues, and working with military families in order to provide a better understanding of the need for mental health services for veterans.
