This programme follows her successful treatment at the Cardinal Clinic using behavioural psychological techniques. She is taught relaxation techniques and then gradually exposed to birds.. Initially we see that even looking at pictures produces anxiety but by the end of treatment she is able to hold a number of birds and tells us that it is the happiest day of her life.. The programme is very strong on human interest and has received excellent feedback. Psychiatry can sometimes get a negative press but examples such as this show the speciality in a different light..
