Description
Summary:"The aim of this research focusses on how Māori communities are using digital tools as a medium to present traditional Māori knowledge. Furthermore, this research will look at what are the attitudes, concerns and benefits to Mātauranga Māori in the use of digital technology. This will be examined in the creation of a digital resource of Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae, Auckland University of Technology. This research will further contribute and progress the integration of Māori knowledge with digital technologies. Aspects of tikanga (protocols), kawa (tribal practices), kōrero onamata (Ancient Stories) and te reo Māori (Māori language) will be examined. The resulting artifact exemplifies the use of digital technology in the transmission of traditional knowledge, and has the potential to cater to other indigenous communities. The entire exegesis and artefact will be produced and written in Te Reo Māori. This research will target all Māori and AUT’s staff and students." -- Supplied by author.

Kua roa nei tātou, te Māori, e kaha tautoko ana i ngā momo hangarau i roto i ngā rau tau kua pahemo. Ka mutu, kia puta mai ai he rauemi e whakamahia ana ēnei taputapu hei kīnaki i ngā kōrero kia noho hei tauira o tēnei waka hangarau hei kawe i ngā rawa o te Māori mō ngā tau e haere mai ana.
