Yet, as a result of rising tourism in many fast-growing economies, Europe is gradually losing market share in global tourism. This publication charts international tourism trends in the EU up to 2017, including trends in arrivals and receipts, mode of transport, accommodation establishments and source markets, as well as individual destinations. It also shows that in the coming decades there is still a substantial potential for further tourism growth and continued positive economic impact in the EU. |
