This case tells the story of Sue as she faces the implications of the loss of paid employment for herself, her family, and the people she and her son work with to the benefit of their community. Sue's story is set in Aotearoa-New Zealand, a jurisdiction that in the 1980s was at the vanguard of intensifying market-driven globalisation often referred to as neoliberalism.
