Summary: | The 'Image, Text and Sound 2004' Conference looks to the as yet unseen: that incremental step which is fuelled by the fundamental energies of persistence, intuition, vision and intellectual inquiry. The practitioners within RMIT's School of Creative Media, are makers of images - whether it be the narratives of the written word, image or sound-scape. In the making of these images, they engage with a plethora of new and traditional technologies. New media haven't replaced the old, but the expression of work through new digital technologies is extending the boundaries of the creative industries, offering new concepts and collaborations. They (new media) change the way we look at the world; the conversation has speeded up and is diverging, but it is still the practitioner who makes the decision about what is important to be told. |
