Summary: | The case is set up as an information technology (IT) outsourcing engagement. The case is divided into two parts, each part representing the two parties in an outsourcing engagement. Case Part A represents the customer, Gorrs Limited. The customer is a global plastics machine manufacturing company with headquarters in India. Case Part B represents the vendor company, Petra Services Private Limited. Petra is an IT outsourcing services company with headquarters in India. The company has a global presence and has operations in India. The context of the exercise is that the customer company is looking to outsource its IT services. The budget period is January through December, and this case is set in the August-through-September period. The case looks at both the customer's (Gorrs) and the vendor's (Petra Services) perspectives. Students will be divided into groups of three to five members and asked to assume roles of the vendor or customer company and analyze their respective perspectives (as customer or vendor) as they consider entering into the outsourcing engagement. |
