This rate was three times the industry average (about 10%). With the cost to train estimated at approximately USD 14,000 per trainee, and about 250 trainees participating in training annually, the cost of training failures had reached significant levels (approximately USD 1.11M dollars annually). The purpose of this case is to assist Ms. Jones in diagnosing and solving the high training failure rate for transit operator trainees in her organization by investigating the role of trainee characteristics and training program details. |
