DBG's daughter and son (the next-generation siblings) obtained professional degrees from abroad and joined Lupin, and their efforts helped to accelerate company growth, especially in the developed markets of the West. The company expanded both organically and through acquisitions. The next-generation sibling team had complementary capabilities, self-confidence, and a good understanding of the emerging pharmaceutical business. Through the efforts of the siblings, the Lupin portfolio continued to diversify as the company embraced biotechnology techniques and advanced drug delivery systems. Lupin and its next-generation sibling leadership experienced a major setback when DBG died in 2017. The company's global expansion was marked by both successes and challenges.
