Abstract: | The article looks at the sales performance of books on business and computing in Great Britain in 2009 and 2010. Based on data from Nielsen BookScan, sales of business books have dropped by 0.6% year on year (yoy) in 2009 and another 5.9% reduction during the first 16 weeks of 2010. It notes a 52.6% increase in the yoy sales in Penguin on April 17, 2010 as a result of the sales of the books "Freakonomics" and "Too Big to Fail," by Andrew Ross Sorkin. Also stated is the reduction in the value of the computing market between 2001 and 2008. |
